Writing External Hard Drive Reviews

It can actually be pretty hard writing external hard drive reviews, especially if we’re trying to name one best external hard drive for Mac with so much of a choice out there (and it’s only growing)! We have the tricky task of finding the right drives to review in the first place, making sure they’re going to match what people need, making sure they’re a good reliable deal and then (and only then) do we match them up to our existing reviews and compare the difference.

Like we always say though, there’s not a best external hard drive for Mac and it’s all subjective. We have several different drives we consider the ‘top brass’ of external hard drives and a few others which fill a more ‘niche’ roll. For example if you’re looking for something to take all terrain or something – there’s an app for that. There’s also an external hard drive for that very purpose. And while it’s very good at what it does, for most people (even the most clumsy) it’s probably taking the shock protection a little far.

So when we make external hard drive reviews we’re spending most of the time trying to find drives actually worth reviewing and then comparing them to what we already have. We could do hundreds of reviews on drives that just plain suck or ones that are pretty much clones of the kind we already have at a higher price. But what’d be the point really?online external hard drive reviews

Reading External Hard Drive Reviews

So if you’re looking through our reviews looking for the best external hard drive for Mac you want to make sure you know what you’re looking for. If you check our rating system at the bottom of each review you’ll see the point system we allocate each external HDD to give you a quick understanding of each drives pros and cons. We also suggest alternatives for most hard drives to help you find the one you’re looking for. And for each of our reviews we show other peoples external hard drive reviews and we link over to Amazon – who (if you didn’t already know) let people post their own reviews for products so there’s plenty of external hard drive reviews for most of the models we look at.

Using External hard Drive Reviews

Your best bet when looking to buy anything, is to look for reviews online first. Not only will you get better value for your money, but you’ll also likely end up with a much better quality external hard drive. If you look in at store window or at advertisements they’ll tell you this hard drive is the best thing ever and will sort all of your needs, the online external hard drive reviews might well tell you that a week down the line it’ll break down and the warranty won’t cover it.
